Welcome to Year 8
I am Mrs Nicholls and I am the Progress Leader for Year 8. Along with Progress Mentors, I will support your child through Year 8. This is an important year because they will choose their GCSE subject in the Spring Term. I am here to assist with the options process.
Please contact your child’s Progress Mentor in the first instance or alternatively, contact our administrator Mrs Rachel Pezzella firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is essential that parents and guardians update the school of any changes in their contact details ie change of address and new phone numbers.
Progress Mentors for year 8

8N – Mr Masabo – firstname.lastname@example.org
8G – Miss Finch – email@example.com
8E – Miss Hourigan – firstname.lastname@example.org
8D – Mrs Howe – email@example.com
8A – Miss Price – firstname.lastname@example.org
Please contact the school’s absence telephone line and/or email the KS3 administrator Mrs Rachel Pezzella or your child’s Progress Mentor giving the reason for absence and expected return date. All absences should be followed up with a note. Medical appointments must be supported by Doctors/Hospital/Dental appointment card/letter so that appropriate coding can be assigned on registers.
Please ensure correct uniform is worn at all times. School uniform guidelines are given on the KESA website http://kesacademy.co.uk/prospective-parents-carers/uniform/. Should your child arrive to school incorrectly dressed, you will be asked to bring in the correct clothing. Alternatively students can be sent home to change or could lose part of their social time.
Please do let me know of out of school successes that your children may have, I am keen to celebrate those as well as in school achievements. Pupils are awarded achievements points during lessons and outside classes but should your child be successful in an activity outside of school, we would particularly like to know so that we can celebrate that too.
