King Edward VII Academy students celebrate A-Level results
There were plenty of smiles at KES Academy today as students opened their A-Level results envelopes. Average grades matched those from last year and there was much to celebrate. 60% of grades were A*-C and the overall pass rate at A*-E was 96%.
Owen Dewey was over the moon with his two A* grades and one A grade (A* in business studies and history and A in English Literature). He said: “I was overwhelmed to get my results, they were not what I was expecting and I am really looking forward to going to Newcastle University.”
Matthew Rose was delighted in finding out he had achieved an A* in mathematics and A grades in business studies and history. Matthew commented: “I am very happy to have achieved the grades I needed. I am looking forward to going to Warwick University to study accounting and finance.”
An emotional Iuliana Costache said: “I have never cried tears of happiness before and didn’t expect to get AAB. I am now looking forward to going to UEA.”
Paul Keaney said he was thrilled to have done so well with A grades in English Language and economics and a C in biology: ‘I was really pleased with my grades and they get me into the University of Kent.”
Head of School, Lloyd Brown said: “We are very pleased with this year’s A Level results. Our students have performed well on the new, more rigorous courses for Sixth Formers and the results go alongside our recent Ofsted grading as providing Good Sixth Form provision. Our students are progressing to excellent university destinations and apprenticeships; my congratulations to them and my thanks to the staff and parents who have supported the students with their studies.”
